Introducing Brandon Wilson, Artistreets Sales Associate

Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago in the historic neighborhood of Englewood, I have spent my life immersed in the city's rich cultural and social diversity. My journey took me through the halls of Sacred Heart, Altgeld, Saint Sabina, and Saint Ethelreda for grammar school before moving to the North Side and attending Evanston Township High School. Experiencing both the South and North Sides of Chicago gave me a unique perspective on the city’s dynamic neighborhoods, each with its own distinct energy, artistry, and challenges.

My formal education at Lake Land and Elgin Community College deepened my interest in Sociology and Philosophy, where I explored the works of Plato, Aristotle, Locke, and other great thinkers. Their writings on society, justice, and human connection resonated deeply with me, reinforcing my belief in the power of art and symbolism to bridge divides and strengthen communities.

Now, as part of this new stained glass startup, I have the opportunity to merge my love for Chicago, my passion for meaningful storytelling, and my commitment to social connection through art. Stained glass is a medium that embodies history, culture, and craftsmanship—an art form that is fading from public spaces but remains as powerful as ever. By working with local businesses, nonprofits, and municipal services, I aim to help organizations increase their visibility and revenue while supporting the preservation of this disappearing medium.

Through carefully crafted stained glass collages, we create pieces that honor the essence of Chicago—blending traditional stained glass imagery with painterly elements, maps, photographs, logos, symbols, and more. These works of art are not only visually stunning but also serve as tools for fundraising, branding, and storytelling. Whether displayed in a local café, a community center, or a city service office, each piece connects people to the places and stories that matter most.

My role in this venture goes beyond sales—it's about fostering relationships, understanding the needs of local organizations, and finding creative ways to use stained glass as both an artistic and economic asset. By partnering with businesses and community leaders, I hope to contribute to a movement that revitalizes appreciation for this historic art form while also driving economic opportunities for those who need them most.

At its core, this work is about preserving tradition while forging new paths for connection and commerce. Chicago has always been a city of resilience, creativity, and reinvention, and I am proud to play a role in bringing this vision to life—one piece of stained glass at a time.
